Luprops tristis Fabricius 1801 - (rubber litter beetle)
This beetle is a nuisance pest some parts of Asia like in India. It breeds in the litter of rubber plantations and can also use the litter from other trees. The beetles are about 8 mm long, are nocturnal and attracted to light. They form large, seasonal aggregations of millions of individuals which invade houses. When irritated, they secrete a substance which can cause skin burns.
