Leptoglossus Guérin-Méneville, 1831
The genus contains around 60 species of leaf-footed bugs found in America with a few species occurring in Europe and other regions. It includes a number of agricultural pests like the western conifer seed bug.
A large variety of crops and trees are attacked ranging from cereals and fruit trees to conifer trees. The species feed mainly on developing seeds, cones, fruits or nuts. The adults are typically 15-20 mm long and have broad and flat hind tibiae like in several other genera of the family Coreidae.
