Lemna minor (weed) L. - (lesser duckweed)

This free-floating aquatic plant is widely distributed and native to many parts of Europe, Asia, Africa and North America. It can pollute ponds and lakes by forming a dense cover on the water surface, blocking light and suppressing the growth of other plants. The weed also deprives fish of oxygen.
