Lecanicillium fungicola (Preuss) Zare & W. Gams 2008

The fungus infects cultivated mushrooms like Agaricus bisporus, causing the dry bubble disease. It is estimated to cause annual losses of 2-4%. On infected mushrooms, undifferentiated spherical masses appear, so called bubbles. The pathogen spreads into mushroom cultures by contaminated soil, insects or tools.
