Juniperus occidentalis (weed) Hook. - (western juniper)
This tree is native to parts of the north-western U.S., mainly in the State of Oregon. Since the late 19th century, it has expanded its area of distribution from 0.3 to 3.5 million ha and covers now many parts of neighbouring states like Nevada, California and Idaho. It is regarded as invasive in some areas like steppe habitats, where it effects sagebrush (Artemisia) communities (Davies et al., 2019).
