Morphometrics and comments on Steinernema abbasi Elawad, Ahmad and Reid, 1997 and Heterorhabditis bacteriophora Poinar, 1976 isolates found in Pakistan
International Journal of Nematology 17 (2), 213-216
Abstract: Entomopathogenic nematode species Steinernema abbasi, S. pakistanense (Steinernematidae); Heterorhabditis bacteriophora and H. indica (Heterorhabditidae) were found in soil samples of agricultural fields at NWFP and Sindh province of Pakistan. The entomopathogenic nematode isolates were extracted from these samples by Galleria baiting technique, identified on the basis of morphological and morphometric characters and confirmed through DNA sequencing. Majority of the morphometrics are very close to those of the original description. S. abbasi and H. bacteriophora isolates are reported for the first time from Pakistan.
