Iflavirus apistardum
Assigned virus:
• slow bee paralysis virus (SBPV)
SBPV belongs to the family Iflaviridae in the order Picornavirales. It infects honeybees and bumblebees and has been linked to honeybee colony mortality. Hoewever, it is not common in honeybee colonies and honeybees are apparently a secondary host. It is transmitted by Varroa destructor.
