Hyposoter Förster, 1869

This is a large genus of Ichneumonid wasps which is widely distributed. The species are koinobiont endoparasitoids and the hosts are mainly caterpillars of larger Lepidoptera, but also include larvae of Coleoptera and Hymenoptera. Among the genera parasitised are for example Spodoptera, Helicoverpa and Pieris.

Type species: Hyposoter parorgyiae
