Hyaloperonospora parasitica (Pers.) Constant. 2002
This oomycete is widely distributed causing downy mildew diseases on Brassica oleracea and other crucifers like canola/oilseed rape (see also Hyaloperonospora brassicae). Mainly young Brassica seedlings are susceptible and are often killed by the disease. Infections in older plants result in a yield reduction.
