Helianthus L. - (sunflowers)
This genus of composite plants contains around 70 species of herbs and bushes. Most species are native to North America, but a number of them have been introduced into other countries, either accidentally or deliberately as crops or ornamentals. Several of them have become invasive weeds. For example, the common sunflower, Helianthus annuus, is grown as a crop in many countries, but has become naturalized in several countries and turned into an invasive agricultural weed.
Currently, the following species have been entered into the system:
