Harmonia Mulsant, 1846

The genus includes about 20 species of ladybird beetles. The preferred prey is aphids but other insects can be also attacked and even fruits may be part of the diet. Harmonia axyridis has invaded various regions and is often considered a pest.

The adults are around 3-10 mm long and have various colour patterns, sometimes even within the same species. The antennae are slightly shorter than the width of the head and have 11 segments with the last 3 segments being enlarged.
