Gryllotalpa africana Palisot de Beauvois, 1805 - (African mole cricket)

This mole cricket is found in Africa and has been reported from some warmer parts of Asia, Europe and Australia. In some areas, it can be a pest of seedlings (e.g. rice) and grasses, attacking the roots. However, it is also a predator of soil insects.
