Golovinomyces biocellatus (Ehrenb.) V.P. Heluta 1988

This fungus causes powdery mildew diseases. It is widespread and has a broad host range, mainly among plants from the family Lamiaceae (the mint family). The conidiophores are about 100-200 µm long and produce 2-4 conidia in chains with a sinuate outline. The conidia are hyaline, ellipsoid to cylindrical, with a size of around 30-40 x 20 µm. Primary conidia are rounded at the apex and truncated at the base. Molecular evidence suggests that this species forms a complex together with several closely related species.
