Glischrochilus fasciatus (Olivier, 1790)
This sap beetle is found in parts of North America and has been also reported from some countries in Europe. It is attracted to and feeds on sap flowing from trees and fermenting plant products like rotting fruits. Together with other sap beetles, it is often associated with oak wilt fungus mats (Bretziella fagacearum) and is suspected to transmit the oak wilt disease (Cease & Juzwik, 2001). The adult beetles are 5-7 mm long, black with four yellow to orange marks on the elytra.
