Geocoris pallens (predator) Stål, 1854 - (western big-eyed bug)
This species is a predator of mites and insects in western North America. It is similar to Geocoris punctipes but can be distinguished by its smaller size and colouration. Like that species it feeds on a variety of insects as well as on plants. The females are approximately 3½ mm long, the males slightly smaller. The colour is greyish with black marks. There are 3 or more generations per year. The development from egg, through 5 nymphal stages to mature adult last approximately 1½ months and depends on the temperature.
