Eriochloa villosa (weed) (Thunb.) Kunth - (woolly cupgrass)

This grass is native to temperate parts of eastern Asia and introduced into North America, where it has been regulated and quarantined in some areas (Simard et al., 2015). Up to 200 plants per m2 have been recorded in some locations. It has been also reported from parts of eastern Europe. Woolly cupgrass can be weedy in crops like maize, soybeans or rice.

For a review see Darbyshire et al. (2003).
