Elymus repens (weed) (L.) Gould - (couch grass)

The weed is an important weed, mainly in northern parts of Europe and North America. It is a problem in cereals and various other crops. Management involves mainly the use of herbicides (glyphosate) or intensive tillage. However, it is difficult to control because it forms rhizomes which persist in the soil.
