Elsinoë fawcettii Bitanc. & Jenkins 1936

This fungus is widespread and infects citrus, causing citrus scab. Infections often result in serious economic losses for growers producing for the fresh fruit market. The disease is characterized by raised lesions on the fruits in the form of scabs or corky warts. Similar fruit symptoms are caused by Elsinoë australis. However, unlike in that pathogen, E. fawcettii lesions also develop on the leaves. The disease can be managed through resistant cultivars.

The conidia are hyaline and elongated with a size of about 5-10 × 2-5 μm. The ascospores are larger, about 10-12 × 5-6 μm with 1-3 septa. The spores disperse mainly through rain splashes.
