Eggplant latent viroid (ELVd)

This viroid has a circular RNA of 332 to 335 nucleotides with high variability and forms hammerhead structures which enable self-cleaving during multiplication. It has a branched quasi-rod-like secondary structure. The viroid causes symtomless infections in eggplant seedlings and can be transmitted mechanically and through seeds.
