Cytospora leucostoma (Pers.) Sacc. 1881

This fungus is widely distributed and causes peach canker (see also Cytospora cincta). Both species cause similar symptoms and may occur together in the same locality. Other fruit trees may also become infected. In some areas with a high disease incidence of Cytospora canker on peach trees, C. leucostoma has been found to be the predominant pathogen.
