Cytospora chrysosperma (Pers. : Fr.) Fr. 1818 - (Cytospora canker of poplar)

The fungus is widely distributed and causes bark canker on poplar (Populus), willow (Salix) and other woody plants. It can result in significant damage and during outbreas in fruit or nut trees, the disease incidence may reach 50% (Bagherabadi et al., 2017).
