Chrysoporthe austroafricana Gryzenhout & M.J. Wingf., 2004

The fungus causes canker on eucalypt and Syzygium trees in southern Africa. The base of the trees becomes infected and results in wilting and death of young trees. In older trees the cankers can cause breakage during strong winds.
