Chondrostereum purpureum (Pers. ex Fr.) Pouzar - (silverleaf fungus)

The fungus causes the silverleaf disease of plum, cherry, pear and other trees. It can enter the tree only through fresh open wounds and causes decay of the wood. It is also used as a biological herbicide in forest management.
