Chaitophorus Koch, 1854

This genus of aphids is widely distributed, especially in temperate Palaearctic and Nearctic regions. It includes around 100 species, which infest mainly trees like Populus, Salix or Acer. They have a holocyclic life cycle with parthenogenetical and sexual forms, but do not change hosts as part of their life cycle (monoecious).
