Ceratothripoides Bagnall, 1918

This is a small genus of thrips with about 5 species. They are found in Africa and Asia and two species are regarded as agricultural pests and as vectors of tospoviruses. Ceratothripoides claratris and C. brunneus are pests of tomatoes in southern Asia and eastern Africa respectively. The latter has been also reported from other parts of Africa, Central America, southern parts of North America and South-East Asia.
