Cecidophyopsis selachodon van Eyndhoven, 1967 - (red currant gall mite)

This gall mite is found in Europe. It is one of several Cecidophyopsis species infesting the buds of currant and gooseberry plants (Ribes). The attacked buds become swollen (almost 1 cm in diameter) and do not develop normally.
