Bacillus thuringiensis Cry2A-toxin (entomopathogen)
This toxin affects Lepidoptera. It does not share a common binding site with the Cry1A toxin and is therefore of interest as an alternative source for transgenic crops. Transgenic crops based on Cry1A are widely grown as a protection against Lepidoptera pests and many insect populations are already resistant to this toxin.
