Bacillus thuringiensis Cry1A-toxin (entomopathogen)
This is an endotoxin produced by Bacillus thuringiensis var. kurstaki which has been used in various transgenic crops, mainly against Lepidoptera pests. It was the first Cry-toxin used in transgenic maize and most Bt-crops contain this toxin, sometimes in combination with other toxins to delay the development of resistance in the target insects.
