Arundo donax (weed) L. - (giant reed)

This plant is native in parts of southern and western Asia and in some Mediterranean countries. It is invasive in riparian areas of southern North America and some other countries, e.g. Spain. It alters the ecology of the invaded areas, replaces native vegetation and increases risks of forest fires.
