Apocynaceae - (dogbane family)

The family includes more than 5,000 species of various, mainly evergreen forms. Vines are common but herbs, shrubs and trees are also represented. Some are important agricultural weeds.

The leaves are not divided and the flowers are bisexual with a radial symmetry. The family is difficult to recognize by morphological characters and is now mainly defined by its DNA structure.
