Vincetoxicum Wolf, 1776 - (swallow-worts)

The genus contains mainly unbranched herbs and few small shrubs. Some species are vines. The flowers are small, around 3-5 mm in diameter, with a radial symmetry. The spindle-shaped fruits contain small seeds, equipped with hairs and disperse through the air. The species often have rhizomes with which they survive over the winter.
