Anopheles vaneedeni Gillies & Coetzee, 1987
This mosquito is found in southern Africa and in parts of eastern Africa. It is regarded as a secondary malaria vector (Burke et al., 2019), being primarily zoophilic, but readily bites humans outdoors. Taxonomically, An. vaneedeni belongs to the Anopheles funestus group, and both species are found in similar types of breeding sites.
