Anopheles leucosphyrus Donitz, 1901
This mosquito is a malaria vector in south-eastern Asia. It is found in forested areas of Sumatra, Borneo and further north in the mainland of Malaysia and in Thailand. It readily feeds on humans and enters houses. Taxonomically, L. leucosphyrus forms a species complex with several closely related species, including A. latens and A. balabacensis.
