Anopheles latens Sallum & Peyton, 2005
This mosquito is a malaria vector in south-eastern Asia. It is found in forested areas of Borneo and further north in the mainland of Malaysia and in Thailand. It bites humans during the night and breeds in small accumulations of water like temporary pools. Taxonomically, L. latens is a sister species of L. leucosphyrus and has been previously called Anopheles leucosphyrus species A.
