Anopheles campestris Reid, 1962
This mosquito is found in parts of south-eastern Asia from Malaysia to Thailand and to southern China. It is highly anthropophilic and can be common in some areas. A. campestris bites during the night and is an important malaria vector in some areas. Feeding on cows has been also recorded. It breeds in wells, ditches and other deep and stagnant water bodies. Taxonomically, A. campestris is closely related to Anopheles barbirostris.
