Anopheles bradleyi King, 1939

This mosquito is found along the Gulf Coast and the eastern coast of North America, south to Nicaragua and north to New York. It breeds mostly in brackish water, often with algae and vegetation. It can be experimentally infected with Plasmodium falciparum, but is not regarded as a significant vector. On the other hand it is a vector of Dirofilaria immitis.

A. bradleyi is very similar to Anopheles crucians and has been previously regarded as a subspecies of that species. Both species can be distinguished by morphological features of the larvae and pupae.
