Aculops lycopersici (Massee, 1937) - (tomato russet mite)

The mite attacks tomatoes and potatoes causing bronze and shiny patches on the leaves, stems and fruits. It was first reported from Australia and subsequently from many other countries in Asia, Afria, Europe and the Americas. Damage is mainly caused on tomatoes, but it also attacks other Solanaceae and sometimes plants from other families are infested.
