Achnatherum inebrians (weed) (Hance) Keng - (drunken horse grass)

This grass is found in eastern parts of Central Asia, including Tibet, Mongolia and north-western China. It is poisonous and infected with the endophytic fungus Epichloë gansuensis which produces toxic alkaloids. The infection by the endophyte is beneficial for the plant, making it resistant to insects as well as protecting it from grazing animals and droughts.
