Abstract: In eastern Germany, the summer of 1947 experienced an extended dry period with above average temperatures. Important pest outbreaks occurred on cereals by Haplothrips tritici, on mustard by Athalia colibri, on cabbage by Contarinia nasturtii and Pieris brassicae, and on poplar by Leucoma salicis.
