Anthocoris nemorum (predator) (Linnaeus, 1761)
This small predatory flowerbug is a polyphagous predator of arthropods like aphids, psyllids, mites or thrips, including many pest species (e.g. see Simonsen et al., 2010). It can also feed on plants.
A. nemorum is widely distributed in Europe and temperate parts of Asia. Bartlett et al. (1978, p. 170) report releases in Canada against the pear psyllid, Cacopsylla pyri, but it is not clear if it became established there.
The adults are 3-4 mm long with a black body and brown legs. The transparent wings have diffuse black and brown markings. Taxonomically, it is part of a group of 11 closely related species (Li et al., 2012).
