Alphabaculovirus spliturae - (entomopathogen)
Assigned virus:
• Spodoptera litura nucleopolyhedrovirus (SpltNPV)
The Spodoptera litura nucleopolyhedrovirus was originally isolated from Spodoptera litura in China and the sequence of the original "ZHU strain" is regarded as representative for the species. The virus was subsequently also isolated from other parts of Asia. The original strain has been commercially produced, as have several other Asian strains of the virus. The virus is mainly used on vegetables against S. litura.
