Paederus fuscipes Curtis, 1826
This beetle is found in eastern Asia where it peys on a variety of different insects. Apart from feeding on leafhoppers in the field, for example, it can be also found in houses where it is a predator of cockroaches (e.g. see Bong et al., 2014). When accidentally crushed on the skin it will release paederin, a substance causing Paederus dermatitis. When food is abundant it will multiply and become a health hazard. The adults are 7-10 mm long.
