Aganaspis daci (parasitoid) (Weld, 1951)
This wasp is a larval-pupal parasitoid of Ceratitis capitata and other fruit flies. It can cause high parasitaion rates. The species was initially described from south-eastern Asia, parasitising larvae of Bactrocera dorsalis. Since 2003, it has been also recorded from the Mediterranean region as a parasitoid of the Medfly, Ceratitis capitata. It has been released into several countries, e.g. in Hawaii, against Anastrepha species and other fruit flies.
