Cirrospilus (parasitoids) Westwood, 1832

This genus of tiny wasps (1-2 mm long) is widely distributed and includes around 150 species. Many of them are ectoparasitoids of leafminer larvae. Several species are regarded as important natural enemies of pest leafminers. For example, Cirrospilus vittatus is found in various regions as a parasitoid of pest species like Phyllocnistis citrella or Cameraria ohridella.

Type species: Cirrospilus elegantissimus.
