Orius majusculus (predator) (Reuter, 1879)

The bug is a predator of aphids, thrips and whiteflies in Europe and is being commercially produced against thrips such as the onion thrips (Thrips tabaci) or the western flower thrips (Frankliniella occidentalis). Compared to other Orius species, it is less dependent on pollen as an additional food source which makes it suitable for greenhouse crops that produce only female flowers.
