Crinivirus (genus)
The members of this genus of plant viruses are similar to Lettuce infectious yellows virus. Other economically important viruses are Sweet potato chlorotic stunt virus and Tomato chlorosis virus. They infect mainly cucurbits, other vegetables and root crops. Transmission is through whiteflies (Bemisia, Trialeurodes) in a semi-persistent manner.
The filamentous particles are 1200–2000 nm long and 10-13 nm wide. The bipartite genome consists of single-stranded positive sense RNA, around 15.3-19 kb in size. The coat protein is 28-33 kDa large.
