This polyphagous predator bug is widely distributed in temperate regions of the northern hemisphere and possibly introduced into North America. It is being studied as a biological control agent against pest insects from the orders Lepidoptera, Coleoptera and Hymenoptera. The adults are brownish, 10-15 mm long, with two lateral spines on the pronotum.

Picromerus bidens (predator) (Linnaeus, 1758)

This polyphagous predator bug is widely distributed in temperate regions of the northern hemisphere and possibly introduced into North America. It is being studied as a biological control agent against pest insects from the orders Lepidoptera, Coleoptera and Hymenoptera.
