Vicia cracca (weed) L. - (tufted vetch)

This species of vetch is native to Europe and Asia, but has been introduced into other regions. It is grown as a forage crop, but can be also an invasive weed, found in disturbed habitats and affecting crops like cereals. For example, it has been reported as weedy from northern parts of North America. V. cracca overgrows other plants and spreads mainly by producing abundant seeds.

The climbing stems are up to 2 m long. The flowers are bluish-purple and arranged in a long inflorescence. The seeds have a diameter of around 3 mm.
