Uscana (parasitoids) Girault, 1911

The wasp genus Uscana includes around 30 species of egg parasitoids of bruchid beetles. The genus is widely distributed and hosts are often bruchids of the genus Callosobruchus. Other genera like Bruchus or Zabrotes are also parasitised. In parts of Africa, Uscana lariophaga is an important natural control agent of the cowpea weevil (Callosobruchus maculatus).
