Uranotaenia unguiculata Edwards, 1913
This mosquitoes is found in the Mediterranean region and surrounding countries. It is the only Uranotaenia species known from Europe. Several viruses have been reported from this species, including a type of West Nile virus (lineage 4c) (e.g. see Camp et al., 2018). The hosts are mainly frogs.
